Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director of SJVN, announced on December 1 that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in Bhubaneswar between SJVN’s wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL) and Grid Corporation of Odisha (GRIDCO). The MoU was signed to form a Joint Venture Company to develop a 1000 MW hydroelectric project and a 2000 MW solar power project in Odisha.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Power Minister Pratap Kesari Dev, and Nand Lal Sharma, CMD, SJVN. A.K Singh, Director (Finance), S.L Sharma, CEO (SGEL), and other senior officials from the state government, SJVN, and SGEL were also present on this historic occasion.
Nand Lal Sharma, along with other eminent dignitaries, participated in a panel discussion on the topic ‘Towards Greener Energy’ at the Make in Odisha Conclave 2022.
SJVN’s current total portfolio is around 42,000 MW, with 97% of this based on non-fossil fuel sources and presence across India and abroad. In recent years, the company has experienced exponential growth, and it now has 69 projects in various stages of development.
