Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Satyabrata Sahu’s investigation into the Puri Narendra Pond firecracker explosion got underway at the Circuit House here today. According to sources, the inquiry procedure, which started at approximately 3 PM, is scheduled to last until 7 PM.
Statements from witnesses, Puri police, SP, officials from the Fire Service department, and representatives of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration are to be recorded in front of the SRC. The people who brought the injured to the hospital, the store owners around Narendra Pond, and the loved ones of the slain and injured will also be making statements in front of the SRC.
Meanwhile, 14 people have died as a result of the Puri firecracker incident.
