Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IIFCO) Paradeep, Odisha has received the prestigious Nature Care Green Sustainability Award 2023 for their efforts in promoting sustainability and environmental conservation.
During an event held on the occasion of World Environment Day, Tusharkanti Behera, Minister of State for Electronics & IT, Sports & Youth Services presented the award to Sri K. J. Patel, Director and Unit Head of IFFCO Paradeep. The honour was granted on behalf of the Bomb Neighbour Care Initiative and to recognise the institute’s substantial efforts for environment protection.
As the Guest of Honour, Sri K. J. Patel emphasised fertiliser major IFFCO’s efforts to make mother earth cleaner and greener. He explained how NANO technology is being used to protect the environment and benefit the farmer.
Some important personalities like Chairman of Paradeep Port Authority P.L. Haranadh, Environmentalist Pandit Matru Prasad Mishra, HOD of School of Earth, Ocean and Climate Sciences IIT BBSR Dr. Sandeep Pattnaik participated as Guest of Honour and Speaker in the event held at Biju Convention Centre, Paradeep. They gave their valuable opinion and suggestion to conserve environment.
The event’s chief guest, Minister Tusharkanti Behera urged attendees to take an oath to work towards a greener tomorrow, and requested everyone to embrace the RRR policy (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) in order to reduce pollution.
IFFCO’s Paradeep Unit has previously bagged numerous awards for its valuable contribution towards Nature and Environment. Like ‘Gold Award’ under Apex India Green Leaf Award 2019 and ‘Excellent Energy Efficient Unit’ award under National Energy Management Award-2011 and the prestigious Kalinga Environment Excellence Award in recognition to its adherence to best environmental practices in the plant operation in the year 2021.
Such acknowledgments not only provides recognition to the institute, but also encourages others to imitate and make their own environmental endeavours. It’s a commendable accomplishment that displays the institute’s passion and commitment to the environment.
