The newly elected mayor of Cuttack Municipal council, Subash Singh has resigned from his post of Rajya Sabha.
After being elected as Cuttack Mayor, Singh sought the advice of the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha on the legal implications of this. He met the Vice President of India and the ex-officio Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Venkaiah Naidu, and took his advice.
Finally, after receiving a written reply from the parliament, Singh resigned from the Rajya Sabha today. He had been a member of the Rajya Sabha for two years and has been presenting many important issues of the state in the House.
