In the Ganjam district of Odisha, telecom services have been restored in 99 percent of the blocks. The state government announced on Sunday that important locations such as Brahmapur, Chhatrapur, Ganjam, Khallikote, and Bhanjanagar have achieved full connection. In these crucial locations, BSNL and other telecom service providers had restored 100% of their services as of 10 a.m. on November 1. Meanwhile, efforts were being made to restore services in the other impacted areas.

According to the government, restoration work is presently in progress in two blocks covered by the Jio network and one block covered by BSNL and Airtel. Submerged telecom infrastructure, including as Base Transceiver Stations (BTS), batteries, power plants, and diesel generator (DG) sets, is the main cause of the remaining outages. When the floodwaters subside, these installations will be operational, allowing telecom service providers to fully restore the district.

To guaranty prompt action and the prompt restoration of communication networks, the state government keeps a close eye on the restoration process and works with all telecom service providers. Acknowledging the vital function of telecom connectivity during natural catastrophes, the government is also taking action to guaranty continuous communication services for residents in flood-affected areas.
