The government has announced new prices for Covid vaccines

On Thursday, the central government announced a new price for covid vaccines. The price is now Rs 250 per dose. However, the government has lowered the new rate. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan told a news conference that the central government had revised the price of covid vaccines. Earlier, the vaccine was priced at Rs 250. But now the government has reduced the price by Rs 200. However, the government has allowed private hospitals or vaccine centers to charge Rs 250 per dose.

The government has approved the use of the vaccine, developed by the Serum Institute of India and the University of Oxford in the UK. The only vaccine that has permission is Covishield.

According to sources, the government is bringing in Rs 150 per covid dose from Serum. Later, other taxes added up to Rs 200. There are already reports that Seram is selling at Rs 210 per dose.

Notably, vaccination is now underway in the second phase. People over the age of 45 and those over the age of 40 are being vaccinated at this stage. The vaccine is available at both government and private hospitals. Vaccines at private hospitals have to be paid at a fixed rate. Earlier, the Covid warrior was vaccinated in the early stages.

In the second phase, President Ramnath Kobind, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Election Commissioner Sunil Arora, AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar were vaccinated.
