One of four routes—The Indian Panaroma, Treasures of India, The Indian Splendour, and The Heritage of India—can be chosen by passengers aboard this train. The 7-day trip will set you back a staggering Rs 19 lakh. We’ve all taken trains to get here. Despite the commotion, a lot of us still favour taking the train because it is still a more affordable and secure form of transportation. But it appears that trains are no longer a more affordable form of transportation.
This train, the Maharajas Express, is the cause. It is run by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), and one way ticket is outrageously priced at Rs 19 lakh. This express provides a deluxe rail journey. According to Maharajas’ Express’ official website, “For its passengers, The Maharajas’ Express recreates that privileged experience. Any person would be interested in the chance to travel in this unique train, receive hospitable butler service, and see India’s most magnificent tourist attractions in all their splendour.”
