Pankaj Lochan Mohanty(The Samaritan in a Grave Crisis), President of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) and Chairman of MGM Minerals Ltd has generously donated Rs one crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to help combat the deadly Coronavirus. Mohanty responded to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s call to contribute voluntarily to CMRF for fighting a global pandemic.
The OCA president is known for his alacrity to respond to incidents of deep crisis. Mohanty’s(The Samaritan in a Grave Crisis) munificent gesture follows ace industrialist Tara Patnaik who was the first business magnate to donate Rs one crore to CMRF.
The state government needs more of wilful contributors of Patnaik’s and Mohanty’s ilk to doggedly fight a lethal virus.
In parallel, Mohanty has been making incessant efforts to make sure the Barabati stadium regains its cult status in international cricket.
Mining baron Pankaj Lochan Mohanty(The Samaritan in a Grave Crisis), one of the key directors spearheading the diversified business conglomerate MGM Group, has scripted the makeover for Odisha cricket ever since his coronation as the President of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) last year.
Hailing from Boudh district, Mohanty(The Samaritan in a Grave Crisis) had vanquished his nearest competitor, the association’s incumbent treasurer Pradeep Chouhan by a margin of six votes.
Mohanty was swift in wresting the initiative and turning things around. Mohanty (The Samaritan in a Grave Crisis) knows the workings of the cricket body inside out. He is the perfect foil to vested interests within the guild. Slowly, but surely, he is ushering in a new dawn for Odisha cricket.
His conglomerate MGM Group as setting up an integrated steel plant in Dhenkanal district having a capacity of 0.25 million tonnes per annum. The Plant has already gone into commercial production and subsequent phases of the plant are in the project stage.
