Suddenly after the festivities, an upward surge is being seen in the covid cases in West Bengal.

Tremendous Crowd infront of Kalighat and other temples were seen. The people are barely following any restrictions for which the West Bengal Government has imposed a lockdown now. The schools those were opened nearly after 2 years are going to be closed again till a decline in the covid cases are seen.
The reported number of covid cases on 30th December were 2128. There was a sharp rise in the cases on 31st December and 1st January . There were 3451 covid cases reported in West Bengal on 31st December and 4512 covid cases were reported in 1 January. Several restricitions has been imposed in order to curb the increase of covid cases .
