The 2025 series in Headingley is throwing us some amazing performances and by the looks of it, this will be a test match to remember. While the old guard retired over the past few months, everyone freaked out about the performances of the new batting lineup. One wondered how they would fare against the English attack on a pitch assisting bowlers, however, the young brigade stood out.

Three combined centuries by Yashaswi Jaiswal, newly appointed captain Shubman Gill, and the ever-entertaining Rishabh Pant have taken Team India to a respectable total, and each one of them played their role very well.

Yashaswi was elegant in his footwork, and his punches down the ground were like poetry. Captain Gill was a class apart, and his composure provided the necessary stability to the team. Rishabh did things that he is known for: taking the game away from the opposition by playing unorthodox shots and peppering the innings with sixes and fours.
Fans would have loved to see KL Rahul go on to get a century, and some runs from debutant Sai Sudharsan and comeback master Karun Nair would’ve helped the team reach 500, however, now it’s up to our bowlers to dismiss England for a small score and press on the advantage for a victory!
We were treated to an amazing innings by the three generation-next batsmen. Hopefully, the upcoming matches should see us witnessing some blazing knocks by other batsmen too!
Let the games continue and may Test Cricket find many more takers and admirers in the future.
Come on India, let’s keep winning and create history in this wonderful game.
