The capital city will host the three-day Bhubaneswar Film Festival (BFF) from Friday. Film directors, screenwriters, and other industry professionals from all around the nation have come together to organize this unique film event. The Bhubaneswar Film Festival will feature fifteen iconic Odia films, such as “Maya Miriga” (The Mirage, 1984) and the well-known “Mala Janha” (Dead Moon, 1965). The organizers said that five Odia films would be presented every day from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.
During the festival, a book titled “Odia Cinema @ 90: Rhythms, Rendisons and Reflections” that summarizes the development of Odia cinema over the past 90 years will also be released. The festival’s two “Master Classes” in screenplay writing and film acting, led by superhit film “Oh My God 2” director Amit Roy and renowned Bollywood director and casting director Mukesh Chhabra, respectively, will be one of its main draws.
The inaugural program will be attended by eminent cinema filmmakers Ketan Mehta and Deepa Sahi, Chittaranjan Tripathy, Director of the National School of Drama, and Odia film directors Apurba Bir and Prasanta Nanda, according to an organizer.
