One of the most trusted lieutenants of Dilip Ray, Souvagya Mohapatra has spearheaded the organic and inorganic expansion of the iconic Mayfair Group from a single, low-rise property at Rourkela to 12 plush hotels across the country.
Insiders say Mohapatra is the only executive whom Ray, the CMD of the Mayfair conglomerate trusts so implicitly.

Mohapatra is a commercially astute professional with an exceptional and consistent record of success in developing and quality management of prestigious hotels, building excellent guest relationships, and improving the revenue, performance and profile of newly launched and more established hotels. He has contributed for over 28 years very actively in development of the hospitality & tourism industry.
He is involved in myriad associations- member of the Odisha State Tourism Promotion Council, Federation of Hotels & Restaurant Associations of India, Hotel & Restaurant Association of Eastern India, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Confederation of Indian Industry et al. Mohapatra has been decorated with awards- Honorary Diploma for Outstanding Contribution and Excellence in Tourism & Hospitality, Recognized as “Architects of the Indian Hospitality Industry” during 2016-17 in the Power List by Hotelier India and “Hotelier of the Year”, during Food Awards in 2018.
Mohapatra has been associated with the Mayfair Group since 1994. Mayfair’s forte has been its distinctiveness and the peerless service to the guests. Thanks to the diligent efforts invested by Mohapatra, the properties owned and operated by Mayfair Group have always upstaged rivals and trumped competition.

As Mayfair is in the process of accelerated expansion with more rooms and properties in the pipeline, Mohapatra hardly has ample time for his personal life. He has to spend more hours immersed in office work.
