The Joint Typhoon Warning Center informed that a tropical storm, Nepartak, has formed in the Philippine Sea, southeast of Japan and just north of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.

According to the reports, this tropical storm might be an additional obstacle during the ongoing Tokyo Olympics, which began on July 23. The tropical storm Nepartak could make landfall north of Tokyo early next week with a wind of at least 74 kilometres per hour.

The report further stated that currently there is no storm watches or warnings issued in Japan but there is still a lot of uncertainty regarding the storm, including its path and intensity.
