Udit Narayan is making waves in the media after a video surfaced online, showing the popular singer apparently kissing a fan at a live concert. In the clip, the fan leans in to give Narayan a peck on the cheek while taking a selfie, leading to widespread speculation and discussions on social media.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Narayan addressed the video, defending his actions and expressing no regret. He explained that the moment captured in the video was a reflection of the deep, pure bond he shares with his fans. “Why would I do something like this at this stage of my life, having achieved so much? There is a genuine love between me and my fans. What you saw was an expression of that love,” Narayan stated.
The veteran singer went on to clarify that there was no malice or hidden agenda in the moment, and that he found the controversy laughable. “Do you hear any regret or sorrow in my voice? I’m actually laughing as I speak to you. This is not something sleazy or secretive—it’s something that happened in the open. If some people want to twist it into something dirty, I feel sorry for them. I also want to thank them, as they’ve made me even more famous than I already was,” he added.
Narayan suggested that the release of the video, months after his US-Canada tour, was a deliberate attempt to malign his image. He expressed that those trying to bring him down will only end up increasing his success. Additionally, he recalled that the legendary Lata Mangeshkar had once considered him her favorite co-singer of his generation, and that he is blessed by “Mata Saraswati,” which gives him the strength to rise above negativity.
With his message of defiance, Narayan made it clear that he will not let the controversy affect his career or his love for his fans.
