Union Health Minister Announces Five Reserved Seats in MBBS for Covid-19 Warriors’ Children

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan made a big announcement that five seats will be reserved for the children of Coronavirus Warriors in the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.

The Union Minister said that ‘Covid-19 Warrior’ is one who is an ASHA worker working on the ground and a nurse or doctor working in a hospital. To honour these front-line warriors of Coronavirus in India, five seats have been reserved for their children in the national quota. They will be nominated based on merit.

Besides, the Health Ministry has approved the new category for the selection and nomination of ‘Ward of Covid-19 Warriors’ candidates for 2020-21 under Central Pool MBBS / BDS seats. The Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said “It is our commitment to all those COVID warriors who served the country selflessly.”

 It was informed that five central pool MBBS seats have been reserved for this category for the academic year 2020-21. The Union Minister made this announcement during a program of FICCI Ladies’ Ordination.

At the same time, the Minister said “You can inspire and protect others from this deadly virus by wearing small precautions such as wearing a mask of good quality, keeping social distance and taking care of hand cleaning.”
