Bhubaneswar: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, is set to undertake a day-long visit to Odisha on April 19, during which he will inaugurate multiple national highway projects. The announcement was made on Monday by state BJP vice-president Golak Mohapatra.

According to Mohapatra, the Union Minister will arrive in Bhubaneswar and attend an official event at Baramunda Ground, where the inauguration ceremony of several infrastructure projects is scheduled to take place.

Terming the occasion a “golden era” for Odisha, Mohapatra said, “The central leadership’s continued visits to Odisha reflect their commitment to accelerating the state’s development under the double-engine government.” He expressed optimism that such initiatives would further bolster connectivity and economic growth in the region.

Mohapatra also noted the recent visit of Union Health Minister JP Nadda, who launched the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in the state. Highlighting the significance of back-to-back ministerial visits, he said the Centre is focused on the holistic development of Odisha, spanning healthcare, infrastructure, and beyond.

Gadkari’s visit is expected to draw key political and administrative attention, underscoring the growing emphasis on national-level infrastructure push in the eastern state.
