Vedanata Signs MOU With ESIC

Vedanta Limited, Lanjigarh, India's leading producer of metallurgical grade alumina, has partnered with the Employees' State Insurance Corporation

Vedanta Limited, Lanjigarh, India’s leading producer of metallurgical grade alumina, has partnered with the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) to provide additional employee welfare benefits to its shopfloor employees and business partners. As a result of this collaboration, the Vedanta Hospital in Lanjigarh (Kalahandi, Odisha) has been designated as an Employer’s Utilization Dispensary. This recognition entitles ESI beneficiaries (those in certain wage brackets) to cashless comprehensive primary healthcare services at the Vedanta Hospital for themselves and their immediate family members.

ESIC has classified several common types of health risks into three levels of assistance, namely primary, secondary, and tertiary, from which anyone enrolled under the ESI Act can receive treatment. Vedanta Hospital can now provide primary-level care in this regard.

Vedanta Hospital can now provide free primary-level medical assistance to ESI-enrolled individuals in need of medical assistance. The Vedanta Hospital in Lanjigarh is a 20-bed state-of-the-art medical facility with doctors, physiotherapists, and visiting specialists, as well as a 24-hour ambulance service for referrals. More than 200 patients visit the hospital every day. Furthermore, through their network of partner hospitals, ESIC will provide complete financial assistance for secondary and tertiary level assistance. Furthermore, employees and business partners will have access to a number of additional schemes concerning disability, maternity, dependents, and unemployment.

“Working professionals are the strength of any nation, because they shape the economy,” Mr. Partha Sarathi Panda, Regional Director of ESIC in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, said. We are grateful to Vedanta for providing ESIC with the opportunity to collaborate with their hospital facility, which will greatly benefit local communities. Through this initiative, Vedanta’s workforce and partners can reap the greatest benefits from these schemes while also contributing to the acceleration of our economy.
