VK Pandian Won’t Contest 2024 Polls

The chairman of Nabin Odisha, VK Pandian, and the 5T will not run in the next State Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Following the extended executive body meeting, MLA Debi Mishra, a senior BJD leader, confirmed it. “Pandian clarified that he will not be running for office this time around. However, he will support Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and help the party win all 147 seats, according to Mishra.

Additionally, Mishra stated that it would not be an issue if Pandian ran for office. He went on to say that everyone has the democratic right to vote. Mishra claimed that rumors are being spread about him. In reference to Pandian’s poll plan, party MLA Sambit Routray also expressed a similar viewpoint. Routray continued, “He (Pandian) made it clear that he would not run for office this time and would instead work for the party alongside chief minister Naveen Patnaik. VK Pandian, an IAS officer from the 2000 batch, joined BJD on November 27 after voluntarily leaving the Indian Administrative Service on October 23.

Today, the party resolved to defer the year of the organizational election. We’ll use social media to confront opposition. Debi Mishra stated that the party president has instructed the leaders and workers in this regard. BJD has also made the decision to reiterate Odisha’s request for special state status. The party has lamented the Center’s silence on the Mahanadi and Polavaram issues.
