3-Day State-Level e-Governance Workshop Inaugurated In Bhubaneswar

Today marked the start of a three-day State Level e-Government workshop at the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Bhubaneswar’s Dr. N. Sheshagiri Memorial Hall. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja opened the event by stressing the importance of developing technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in speeding up the state’s government welfare programs.

Young scientists from NIC demonstrated their knowledge of 14 different areas during the first session by creating cutting-edge artificial intelligence-powered models and simulations. Speaking to the audience, Chief Secretary Ahuja outlined the several AI applications that the federal and state governments are now implementing. He also gave the participating scientists insightful advice on how to boost productivity, encourage creativity, and use AI to address pressing issues.

The Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha, R.S. Gopalan, was the honored guest at the function. Gopalan highlighted the significance of policy frameworks in influencing AI applications in his talk on “Policy Intelligence Powering Generative AI Safety and Governance.” NIC scientists, District Informatics Officers, and staff participated actively in the session and held in-depth talks regarding the real-world uses of AI in future projects.

The esteemed visitors unveiled two publications to commemorate the event: a pamphlet on the Gov.AI Exhibition and a Project Profile for the Year 2025. Ashok Kumar Hota, NIC, Odisha’s Deputy Director General and State Informatics Officer, chaired the program, while Surendra Nath Behera gave the vote of gratitude. The event was expertly run by Jayanta Kumar Mishra, Head of the Training Division of NIC, Odisha.
