With eight more fatalities, the death toll has reached to 522 due to COVID-19 in Odisha. At the same time, the exposure of 3631 new cases has strained the Coronavirus cases to 113411.
According to the I & PR Department out of the new cases reported from 29 districts, 1,931 were detected in quarantine centres, and 1,288 were local contacts. Two causalities were reported from Cuttack, one each from Khordha, Kandhamal, Balasore and three death reports from Ganjam.
According to the data, the highest reported cases till now is from Khordha with 722 new cases, Balasore -114, Rayagada -111, Ganjam -107 and Nayagarh -100, Cuttack -370, Mayurbhanj -365, Bargarh -238, Bhadrak -186, Puri -157, and Jajpur -127.
Now Odisha Government has made compulsory for COVID-19 testing of persons before presenting them in front of magistrates for remand by police or other agencies. The Home department has issued an approved SOPs for implementing the protocol of remand to be followed while lodging an accused in jail.
