Before cyclone “Dana” reached the shore, 8 lakh people were moved to secure cyclone shelters. According to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who said both moms and babies are safe, 2,200 babies were delivered during the storm, including 18 ladies who gave birth to twins. The CM expressed gratitude to everyone for their cooperation in handling the situation. Cyclone “Dana” deteriorated into a deep depression, according to the Meteorological Department, he added.

Rescue and repair activities were hampered by the persistent heavy rains in certain places. Roadblocks brought on by fallen trees were removed by this afternoon. After 22.43 lakh energy users lost power at first, 14.8 million now have power again. By tomorrow, efforts are being made to reconnect the remaining customers to the electrical grid.

By nine in the evening, the Bhadrak district’s energy supply had returned to normal. According to initial data, an estimated 1.75 lakh acres of agricultural land were impacted. Following thorough damage assessments, the government will offer aid. Following ground assessments, houses and assistance will be given to people whose homes were completely destroyed or severely damaged. While some evacuees are still in shelters, the majority have gone back to their homes. According to the CM, cooked food will be served at shelters for an additional seven days.

Majhi gave officials instructions to be kind toward those who were impacted. To protect people and property in regions impacted by cyclones, 158 police platoons are now on duty. He noted that collaboration and interdepartmental coordination were key to the storm’s effective management.
