BHUBANESWAR: Indian Railways has announced that train services to and from Bhubaneswar will resume today, starting at 12 noon. Following Cyclone Dana’s passage, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) confirmed that, barring previously notified cancellations, other trains will run as per their regular schedule. This resumption marks a return to normalcy in Odisha’s rail operations, which were suspended as a precautionary measure.
According to ECoR, several trains will commence operation from Bhubaneswar at noon, while others are set to follow at 2 p.m. Down trains coming from Visakhapatnam towards Bhubaneswar and Howrah are already in operation, with UP trains from Kharagpur towards Visakhapatnam expected to reach Bhadrak Station around 2 p.m. today. Among these services, the first scheduled train to resume is the 12245 Howrah-Bangalore Duronto Express.
Services from Bhubaneswar and Puri are scheduled to resume from 12 noon, with the exception of 203 trains that remain cancelled, as per prior notification. These cancellations were part of a preemptive step by the Indian Railways to mitigate risks during Cyclone Dana, aiming to ensure the safety of passengers and railway property.
