The number of cases of scrub typhus in the Sundargarh district reached 361 as six additional persons contracted the illness. Six of the 43 blood samples that were submitted for analysis were confirmed to be positive in the last day, according to a health official.
According to Dr. Niranjan Mishra, director of health, at least eight individuals have died in Odisha as a result of the virus thus far. Chigger bites carrying the virus transmit it. Many additional State districts have reported the occurrences.
The state of Odisha’s government ordered local health officials to step up surveillance and testing for seasonal outbreaks of Scrub Typhus. Fever, headache, bodily pains, and occasionally a rash are the most typical signs of scrub typhus.
