Thus we have received the Golden Opportunity tied up with Interview Times to do an interview on the Topic “ Financial Stability for Women with Psychologist Roger Harris”.
Q1) Hi Rohit Shetty !This is Roger Harris , We are so glad to have you in this platform . Please do tell us more about yourself ,your authors journey.
Ans Hi Roger, Glad to share my experiences with you in this platform too.After having done my graduation in commerce I took finance as a career and have 2 decades of exposure in it.I didn’t aspire to be a writer but had a passion of creating content and publishing it too.There were many setbacks and obstacles during this journey but I didn’t give up.I am glad and even proud to share that I have published more than 200 poems which are available on Amazon.I have also written a self help book “When Success is the only choice” which has got many praises from readers.I am also part of an anthology “Woman the Warrior’ wherein I have shared my views on woman empowerment.Till date I have written on diverse subjects and glad that they got published smoothly.Some of my books which are available on Amazon are :
1.Straight from the Heart-A collection of love and lovely poems : This book is a collection of poems on love published in the year 2016 by Becomeshakespeare wherein I have shared my experiences.The poems are well rhymed and it can bring a smile on anyone’s face and capture one’s heart.
2.When success is the only Choice : This one is a motivational stuff wherein I have shared my experiences as to how to convert obstacles into opportunities,setbacks into thriumps and have a never give up attitude.Published in 2017 by Educreation Publishers this book is very concise but has a lot of dense stuff which can be very useful as a reader.
3.Nature is Wow-A Collection of poems on Nature:This book is also very special since I have tried to capture the essence of nature in poetic form.This book was published during the Covid Times in the year 2020 by Walnut Publications.A poem ” The Covid Effect” was very well written and many readers loved it.
I am thankful to everyone whom I have met during this journey.Recently I have been awarded with the trophy by National Changemakers Forum and also Inspiring India Authors Award 2023.I wish to give my best in the future too and get my audience engaged.
Q2) Why do you feel becoming Financially independent is important and is necessary for people ?
Ans: Life is not a bed of roses.We are part of a divine vision.Money is just a tool to meet our daily needs and lead a happy life.If one is earning good and financially independent he is fortunate.But what about people who have to struggle to meet their financial needs.One garners respect if they are not dependent on other people to live life.If you can earn your bread n butter and be financially independent you are living a productive life.
Q3)This is a very serious question and we need your understanding and take on it . So by profession I am a psychologist , in my years of career I have noticed that a lot of women who are financially well off , do submit a cut of their money or often give out their entire income to the male counterparts. Why do you think this is the case ?
Ans :It’s often the case since ages that woman should handle the household chores and men should earn money to function the family. Of late there have been many developments in the society and woman are in the forefront in their respective careers.There are many options available to woman if they are educated.The rationale behind submitting a cut of their money or the entire income to male counterparts comes out of compassion,love and security which woman aspires for her family.
Q4) Do you feel financial independence has some say in putting one’s voice forward and raising voices on issues like abuse and domestic violence ?
Ans: I always wonder why woman don’t get the respect they deserve because they are gifted with a lot of talents and capabilities.Domestic violence are still prevalent in the current era as well which is difficult to eradicate considering the psyche of people.Awareness is the key.If we can work on this issue from a micro level we can have a better society which could lead to a better nation and ultimately a better world.
Q5) As an author what should be one quote that you want to share on Financial Independence.
Ans:There are extensive examples of woman who have made breakthroughs in their careers and who have changed the world and perspective about woman.We can look at the many successes but not the struggles behind it.An ideal quote towards Financial Independence amongst woman is “A butterfly is proof that it can go through a great deal of darkness yet emerge something beautiful ”
