With the coveted title of “Top Performer” in the DPIIT State Startup Ranking 2022, Odisha is proving to be a shining example of success in the startup space. This esteemed award was revealed by Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, Piyush Goyal, in New Delhi at a felicitation ceremony.
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) held the 4th State Startup Ranking, which sought to strengthen cooperation between States and Union Territories (UTs) in fostering vibrant startup ecosystems. The State Startup Ranking Framework 2022 was designed to be a comprehensive and results-oriented program. It comprised a detailed evaluation of answers based on a number of criteria, using 25 action points.
Odisha’s commitment to reducing regulations and fostering a supportive startup ecosystem has been consistently recognized. Having been honoured as the “Top Performer” in 2019 and 2021, Odisha’s triumph in 2022 reaffirms its progressive initiatives. The state’s inclusive policies and schemes continue to empower aspiring entrepreneurs, solidifying Odisha’s reputation as a leader in nurturing young talent and fostering innovation.
