After the Maha Kumbh in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, now Hindu saints and seers have issued a fresh diktat requesting a ban on the admission of Muslims in the legendary ‘Brij ki Holi’ celebrations in Mathura and Vrindavan. The saints also said that a plot against Sanatan Dharma was being planned and that Muslims should be “kept away” from Hindu holidays since they were unnecessary during the Braj region’s Holi celebrations.
In Mathura, the festival of colors, Holi, has already begun. The well-known Radha Rani temple hosts a lavish celebration of the festival of colors. According to Mathura’s saints, people go from all over the nation and the world to see the Holi celebrations at Vrindavan and Mathura. By arguing that “when Hindus are not allowed to travel to Mecca and Medina then why should they be allowed entry in Hindu festivals like Holi,” the saints have also called for a ban on Muslim sellers in Mathura and Vrindavan.
Priest Sushil Goswami Nandgaon of the Mathura Temple argued that a similar regulation should be put in place in Mathura and Vrindavan and asked why Muslims should be permitted admission to Hindu celebrations. According to a number of Hindu religious officials in Vrindavan, Muslims shouldn’t be included in Hindu celebrations if Hindus don’t participate in them. A Hindutva group located in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, petitioned Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath earlier on Sunday to restrict Muslim participation in the Holi celebrations, stating that Muslims should be excluded from the event.
For the Sanatan community, Holi is a festival of love and harmony, according to the group Dharam Raksha Sangh, which also opposes Muslims selling colors or participating in the celebrations. Recent events in Bareilly have revealed members of the Muslim community posing a threat to Hindus. The national head of the Dharam Raksha Sangh, Saurabh Gaur, declared, “We have decided to forbid Muslims from entering major pilgrimage sites like Mathura, Vrindavan, Nandgaon, Barsana, Gokul, and Dauji during the Holi celebrations.”
