Odisha PSUs Pay Over Rs 205 Cr In Dividends To State Govt

As a result of their strong financial performance, the Odisha government’s four public sector undertakings (PSUs) have distributed dividends to the state totaling more than Rs 205 crore. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi received dividend checks from the Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC) and Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC), both of which are part of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, as well as the Odisha Agro Industries Corporation and Odisha Cashew Development Corporation.

The Odisha Cashew Development Corporation paid Rs 46.51 lakh for the fiscal year 2022–2023, and the Odisha Agro Industries Corporation donated Rs 1.35 crore. The Odisha Hydro Power Corporation contributed Rs 92.21 crore to the state’s coffers, while the Odisha Power Generation Corporation paid out a sizeable dividend of Rs 111.82 crore year 2023–2024.

This sizeable financial contribution supports the state’s resources for development projects and highlights the effectiveness and profitability of Odisha’s PSUs. The government’s initiatives to promote economic development and improve public welfare throughout the state will be aided by the dividends.
