Low Pressure Over Bay Of Bengal Likely To Intensify Into Cyclone In Next Two Days

Weather scientist Umashankar Das reports that a low-pressure system over the Strait of Malacca and adjacent South Andaman Sea has strengthened into a clearly defined low-pressure area. By November 24, 2025, it is predicted to shift west-northwest and intensify into a depression over the southeast Bay of Bengal. Over the following 48 hours, it is predicted to grow into a cyclonic storm.

Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh are among the southern states where the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a special alert warning of severe rains. Along with squally gusts and choppy seas, severe to extremely heavy rains is also predicted for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
