Gurugram Horror: 19-Year-Old Woman Alleges Brutal Abuse by Live-In Partner Met Through App

A 19-year-old BSc biotechnology student from Tripura has alleged severe physical and sexual assault by her live-in partner in Gurugram, in a case that has shocked the city.

According to police, the young woman, who was staying in a PG accommodation in Sector 69, first connected with the accused through a mobile app in September 2025. The man, a resident of Narela in Delhi, reportedly befriended her online and the two began meeting frequently. As per the FIR, the accused promised marriage and established a physical relationship with her.

Over time, the couple moved into a rented flat together in the Badshahpur area of Gurugram. However, the relationship allegedly turned violent.

The situation reached a breaking point on Monday, February 16, when the accused allegedly launched a vicious attack on the woman. Police said he smashed her head against a wall and pieces of furniture. He also reportedly struck her with a steel bottle and an earthen pot.

In a particularly horrifying allegation, the man is accused of pouring alcohol-based sanitiser on her private parts and attempting to set them on fire. The FIR further states that he attacked her legs with a knife and recorded explicit videos of her.

In her statement to police, the woman alleged that he threatened to beat her so severely that she would never be able to walk again or become a mother.

The woman told investigators that she was held captive for two days following the assault. On February 18, she managed to access the accused’s mobile phone and secretly called her mother. She spoke in Bangla so that the accused would not understand the conversation and informed her family about the ordeal.

Her mother immediately alerted authorities by dialling the emergency helpline 112, following which police intervened.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway. Police officials said appropriate legal action is being taken against the accused.
