Confronted with rising air contamination in Delhi-NCR, the Center has presented another law through a law that sets up an amazing oversight body and accommodates as long as five years of prison term and Rs. 1 crore fine for violators with quick impact.
Under the mandate delivered by the Ministry of Law and Justice today, the Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA) has been broken down and supplanted by a commission including more than 20 individuals.
“The statute might be known as the Commission for Air Quality Management In National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas Ordinance 2020. It will apply to public capital locale and furthermore connecting zones to the extent that it identifies with issues concerning air contamination in the NCR. It will come into power immediately,” it said.
The mandate was marked by the President on Wednesday.
