India and China withdraw troops from Pangang lake

The situation between India and China in Ladakh has been tense since May last year. The two countries have also held talks at various levels, both military and diplomatic, to resolve the dispute. However, no visible results have been reported so far. Meanwhile, Chinese state media Global Times, which specializes in propaganda, has claimed that the two countries are withdrawing their own troops from the north and south shores of Pangang Lake. However, the Indian military has not commented on the allegations.

According to a source close to the Chinese Defense Ministry, the Chinese and Indian armies began returning from the north and south shores of Lake Pangang on Wednesday, as agreed by the ninth round of command-level talks between India and China.

The ninth round of talks between the two countries was held on January 24 in China on the border. At the same time, there was disagreement between the two countries over the withdrawal of troops from the Border area and the control and determination of the situation in the wake of the unrest in eastern Ladakh. The Indian Army described the talks as “positive” and said the talks were “positive, practical and constructive”.
