Simran Chandak is a student, a teen, and an over-thinker. The perfect combination.
She just want to be in a life, where she have what she wanted and she is working upon what she want next. Recently she has published her book ” The Reflection” with “The Write Order Publications.” Below are the answers she responded to Interview Times Questionnaire:-
Q1- Can you tell us about your book, which you recently published to our readers?
Answer: The Reflection’ is the book that I have recently published with The Write Order. Its a poetry compilation and the book is divided into four major parts. The major parts being— love; feelings; objects and my favourite people. The last part is what makes this book actually mine. It is about the people whom I love the most. The other three parts are something I have experienced myself, majority of them being in lockdown.
Q2- What inspired you to write a book?
Answer: Well, to be very honest, there was no such inspiration. the sole reason for me writing my first poem was a challenge that my dad gave me. When I finished the poem, I showed it to numerous people and all of them insisted me to write more. That’s how I started writing poems. When I completed 50 of them, my parents suggested me to publish it and that’s how ‘The Reflection’ was born.
Q3- What are the initial hurdles you had faced while writing your book and how did you overcome it?
Answer: Well, like every other human being, I too had phases. Phases when I could write ten poems on a day, and phases when I couldn’t even finish one. So I never wrote with the mentality that I want to finish it off and publish a book. I always wrote whenever inspiration struck me, whenever I felt overwhelmed.
Q4- How many days it took to complete your book and can you share some memories associated with it?
Answer: It took me around 1 year to write 50 poems. Let’s just average into once a week. I remember the day when I first announced to my friends that I was publishing a poetry book. It was surreal. Like the amount of love and hype I received was beyond what I can express. There were poems that my mom loved. She used to make me post those on her Instagram stories. I used to crib about how she makes me do so much time-pass but secretly I loved every part of it lol.
Q5- Would you please like to share some writing tips with our readers?
Answer: The only tip I would give is write consistently. It’s okay if you don’t have the needful inspiration for a specific day, but don’t let a day pass without writing. One more thing that I’d like to add is, don’t rush. Don’t write just for the sake of it or for finishing a book. Write, even if its a single sentence with the utmost feeling you can nurture it with.
Q6- What are your future ambitions?
Answer: I am working on a novel right now with hopes to finish it soon! And poems have become a year round thing to write now ahah.
