Dhenkanal : Amid the fear of a possible third wave and the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic the annual Ganesh Chaturthi celebrated in a low-key manner here.
While the previous year robbed all the charm of the festival due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, this year too the celebrations were confined to a low-key manner.
Lord Ganesh is considered as the lord of wisdom and obstacle remover according to Hindus. Today on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi the idols of Lord Ganesh was worshiped in different households of the city and not limited to school and Colleges across the city.
Several pandals in the city installed small size idols which used to be bigger. The decorations were too limited to a certain level missing the grandeur which the city used to witness during this festival before the covid-19 pandemic.
Sonukant, a devotee said, ” every year we worship lord Ganesh here in our pandal, we are missing the charm due to the pandemic, we are praying and hopeful that next year everything will be back to normal.”
This year almost 38 pandals have been erected across the town for the worshiping of lord Ganesh.
