In a very unfortunate, shocking, and tragic incident, a college girl was burnt to death in the Sundargarh area. The girl was burnt to death in her house where an accidental fire burst in and engulfed the whole house. The girl belonged to Bhaludunguri village under Bonai police limits in the Sundargarh district. The incident happened in the late hours of Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as a Plus Three student Swapneswari Munda from Lahunipada College. Swapneswari’s dress suddenly caught fire from a kerosene lamp at around 10 pm on Monday. Though her family members could douse the fire, she suffered severe burn injuries.
The girl was rushed to Bonai Sub-Divisional Hospital where she passed away while undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, police have started an investigation into the matter.
