IMD forecasts rain as the minimum temperature in Odisha drops below 9 degrees

Due to the extreme cold, normal life was disrupted in numerous areas of Odisha. Several districts recorded lowest temperatures (nighttime) below 10 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to the most recent information, G.Udaygiri in the Kandhamal district and Semeliguda in Koraput on Saturday had the lowest minimum temperature, 8 degrees. Additionally, 10 locations reported a minimum temperature of 10 degrees or higher.

The IMD had already anticipated an increase in the state’s minimum temperature in several regions. On November 18, IMD’s regional centre tweeted, “No significant change in Minimum temperature (Night Temperature) during the next two to three days and subsequently little rise by 2°C at numerous locations over the districts of Odisha.”The depression over the southwest and adjacent southeast of the Bay of Bengal, which was centred over the same area, remained almost stationary in the meantime. The IMD predicts that over the following 48 hours, the depression is very likely to sustain its strength while slowly moving toward the shores of north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and south Andhra Pradesh.
