The Principal of the B.M. College of Pharmacy in Indore, who had been burned by a former student, passed away from her wounds on February 25 early in the morning, according to the police. A number of complaints were made against the accused in the past, but nothing was done about them, according to the accused’s family and the staff of BM college, who claim that this led to the unfortunate tragedy. The accused had previously stabbed a professor at the university and frequently caused a commotion on campus. Also, he had previously threatened the college’s president on numerous occasions. Vimukta Sharma, the principal, suffered significant injuries after Ashutosh Shrivastava, 24, allegedly doused her with gasoline. The institution denied the accused’s claim that he passed the B. Pharma exam in July 2022 but that, despite repeated requests, the college administration had withheld his mark sheet.
Rakesh Sharma, the secretary of the Patel Education Society, which manages the college, accused Shrivastava of stabbing a professor there with a knife over a mark-sheet dispute around four months ago. Shrivastava was detained in that case, according to Sharma, and later released on bail. “Shrivastava was exerting undue pressure on the lady principal and other college officials to drop the case that had been filed against him after he was released from jail,” he claimed.According to Superintendent of Police (Country) Bhagwat Singh Virde, the suspect sustained 25% burns to himself during the attack on the principal and was taken to a hospital after being apprehended.
