The interest in writing has seen a diminishing change over the years. But there are few writers you have ignited the passion for writing. One such inspirational story is of Author Sidra Asaf who is planning to curate her solo book and has been a part of several anthologies.
Q1) What inspired you to start writing?
My inspiration was my loneliness , as a kid when i felt that i have no such friend whom i can share my heart out so i started to pen down my feelings and it gave a motivation to write down ,and hence i wanted to see my name on a book and say “yes i have done it”
Q2) Tell us about your journey about writing anthologies.
While i was a school kid i wasnt fond of bullying others as few of my fellow friends did and as staying away from family i sat and wrote whatever i felt and gradually i liked to make it in rhymes and hence from there i started my journey ,when my friends and family came across it they asked me to write quotes and poems for birthdays and such and it gave me inspiration to write. And later i fell in love with someone so it was long distance all i can do best for him was to shower love in words and then i started writing poems and shayari and which was appreciated later, i started participating in some competitions and won overall and got offer for my first anthology ,later i was called by my city my voice and i was operation team member , heartbeat rythm publishing house gave me chances of compiling . later i wrote as co author for books like The Man in me, Mystical nights, poetess within me ,dosti, and i had few writers in my friends who are well known and hence i was invited in events and people got to know me more and from there my journey as a writer started and i am currently into my own solo book soon and miles to go.
Q3) If you were given the chance to curate your own solo book. What topic would it be ?
If given chance i would surely write a book on love story,true love,friendship,poems and shayris,travel diaries,life of women ,or life of man
Q4) Nowadays the interest of writing is reducing in the youth . Why do you think its happening and what is your take on this ?
Yes indeed the intrest for writing has been reduced in youth as people are investing more on materials than feelings, or maybe lack of time and efforts , the modern world is full of technology so we hardly feel the urge to sit with a pen admire and write, and some people think its of no use as it has no scope,but on other hand there are still few writers or budding writers who jot down their actions into words and create beautiful masterpieces .All we need is a motivation,show them what it feels like being a writer, what comfort we feel when there .inculcating hobby to read and write can be useful.
Q5) How do you manage time to strike a balance between your hobbies and passion .
In life balance is a must but here my hobby is my passion. I love to write ,its like a daily thing for me which i always feel like doing, i write down what i observe and feel.
