A harassment claim was made against the leader of the Youth Congress

The complainant, Angkita Dutta, was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation last year regarding her alleged participation in the Saradha chit fund fraud.The national president of the Youth Congress, Srinivas BV, has been accused of being “sexist, chauvinistic, and outraging a woman’s modesty” by the head of the organization’s Assam chapter, who has filed a police complaint against him. The complaint was made on Wednesday at the Dispur police station in Assam by Angkita Dutta. She said that for six months, Srinivas BV had been mentally tormenting her by making sexist remarks, using slang phrases, and threatening her with negative outcomes if she reported him to senior Congress leaders.During the Congress’ plenary meeting in Chattisgarh on March 25, Dutta accused Srinivas BV of verbally and physically harassing her.

According to Dutta’s complaint, a copy of which HT has seen, “He heckled me holding my arm, pushing and pulling and threatening me using slang words, saying he would ruin my career in the Congress if I complained against him to the high office bearers of the party.”She said that despite her repeated protests, Congress did nothing to punish him. Dutta has requested that a complaint be opened by the police. Police stated that they were investigating the claims.Despite promises from party leadership that Dutta’s complaints would be addressed, the Congress’ Assam branch on Thursday sent her a “show cause” letter and asked her to respond.
