Determining success can be a rewarding journey, In today’s India, success is being redefined by women on their own terms. If she can rock the cradle, she can rule the world too. Today we are in a conversation with a stalwart who has been giving her the best to her work: Mrs. Dipty Mishra, Director- Doordarshan, Bhubaneswar.
Ever since her high school and college days, Mrs. Dipty was the queen of extracurricular activities. She enthusiastically participated in all areas. Mrs. Mishra was artistic by nature. She has worked as a theatre artist since 1976 for Doordarshan and All India Radio. Eventually, she began acting in plays. She earned the confidence to read the news on Doordarshan. She is also a well known Odissi dancer and a dubbing artist.
She was promoted to the Director of Doordarshan, BBSR in December 2019. She took this opportunity to demonstrate her talents and give justice to the expectations of the audience. She received a national award for the Doordarshan documentary “Yet there is Life,” which focused on transgender people as well as many other societal figures.
Mrs. Dipty believes she is happy with her field of employment. She claims, “I’ve already gotten the payoff for my efforts. The role as a director is never tough but it is more creative”. She focuses on entertainment, education, and information as her main public service endeavors. She is also the official broadcaster for the Cart Festival, also known as Rathyatra, the main festival of Odisha.
Being a national player, Doordarshan has always had a large following. With time, a decline in the number of viewers came to the forefront. Mrs. Mishra agrees it is completely appropriate that viewers’ tastes change with time. Despite being in the government’s public domain, private channels have a mission that must be obeyed.
Mrs. Mishra vouches for Doordarshan, which has time and again demonstrated its reliability to the audience. When it comes to the caliber of information, education, and entertainment, people are sure of it and have undivided faith upon it. Every generation will understand that it will continue to improve and change as a result of them.
