In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, A Sreenivas, currently serving as Secretary (Energy Department) and Managing Director of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (DHBVN), has been appointed as the new Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Haryana. He replaces Pankaj Agarwal, according to an official order issued by the Chief Secretary’s office on Thursday.
The reshuffle comes as part of a June 12 administrative reorganization by the Haryana government. As per the same order, Pankaj Agarwal, the outgoing CEO, has been assigned the role of Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department. However, this appointment is subject to the concurrence of the Election Commission of India.
The change in leadership at the CEO office is expected to impact the state’s election preparedness and administrative coordination in the upcoming months.
