An interview with eminent Artist Shibani Parija

Doodling is one of the most famous art forms in the 21st century. This is an interview with eminent self taught artist Shibani Parija.

Tell us something about yourself and your interest in doodling

shibani

I am a self-taught artist , whose works are a combination of traditional and contemporary expressions. I started this doodle mandala form of art formally since 2018 and that’s how my page “Shibi_creations” came into existence. I have been practicing Odissi Dance since 20 years and also completed my MBA in travel and tourism. Both have impeccable impact on me in understanding the art.

How do you keep yourself inspired in any kind of craft ?

doodle

From the very beginning I had a little inclination towards art and culture. I keep scribbling all the time…. And now I’m just organizing those scribbling thoughts in beautiful combination of patterns and colors. I feel nature is my biggest inspiration… Everything has a pattern and I just observe and use these things in my art…

How much do you practice before getting one successful art?

doodle

I think it took me 2 long years to formally practice this doodle mandala form of art… And I believe that I have reached a certain stage of perfection…. Now i just start with a theme and let my creative mind work and in the end a beautiful art work gets ready… I don’t over do a thing , if i am bored ,i switch to something else and then when I get some fresh ideas , i start working on the art again. I feel artists or the creative minds are like that…

What do you suggest , to the younger generation who is inspired in art ?

uth

For the younger generation, i would like to suggest – do what makes you feel happy, find out some time for yourself, explore your hobbies.. that is because I feel your activities and state of mind has an great impact on your art . If you are interested in art then do some research on what is the art form all about, what is it’s history etc etc

Do you think craft helps in maintaining mental health ?
