Odisha has secured investment proposals worth rs. 66,392 crore following a two-day investment outreach programme held in the Delhi-NCR region. The proposed projects are expected to generate around 54,135 employment opportunities across the state. The outreach, led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, concluded on Saturday, August 8, 2026, & marks one of the state’s most significant recent industrial engagement drives outside Odisha.

How the Outreach Unfolded

 

The two-day investment drive followed the successful Odisha Food Pro 2026 event held in Delhi. Building on that momentum, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held a series of one-on-one meetings with leading investors and industry representatives, aimed at attracting fresh investment to Odisha.

As part of the visit, Majhi toured the manufacturing facility of a private company in Noida & interacted with its representatives. He also engaged with Chinese home-appliance major Haier, telling company leadership that Odisha’s industries, MSMEs & skill development ecosystem are ready to support a new white goods manufacturing base, with Haier positioned as the anchor investor. He invited Haier’s leadership to visit Odisha and become part of the state’s growth story.

Organised in association with NALCO, this session explored opportunities to expand aluminium value addition, downstream manufacturing, ancillary industries & MSME participation in Odisha.

Odisha Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain said the state government’s priority is to facilitate investors, strengthen sector-specific value chains, & ensure that investment interest translates into projects on the ground.

 

The Delhi-NCR outreach is part of Odisha’s continued efforts to position itself as an attractive investment destination & accelerate industrial development & employment generation. It builds on the state’s recent series of high-value investment announcements across manufacturing, food processing and other industrial sectors, & is aligned with the central government’s ‘Purvodaya’ vision for eastern India’s industrial growth, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
