The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) on Tuesday unveiled the brochure for its upcoming Subudhipur Ekamra Residency housing project while celebrating its 44th Foundation Day at Jayadev Bhavan. Housing and Urban Development Minister and BDA Chairman Krushna Chandra Mahapatra called for collective efforts to transform Bhubaneswar into a world-class city.
The residential project, spread across 7.36 acres at Subudhipur, will feature three B+G+12 towers offering two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments. Residents will have access to landscaped open spaces, a swimming pool, gymnasium, community hall, children’s play area, jogging track, sewage treatment plant, water recharge system, power backup, CCTV surveillance and modern fire safety systems.
Addressing the gathering, Mahapatra said the BDA’s responsibility extends beyond constructing houses to meeting people’s needs through planned urban development. He stressed the importance of strengthening sewage and drainage infrastructure, preserving green spaces and ensuring coordinated participation between citizens and the administration for the city’s sustainable growth.
Calling Town Planning (TP) schemes the “backbone of people’s aspirations”, the Minister said planned development would enhance civic amenities, increase land values and deliver long-term benefits to residents. Ekamra MLA Babu Singh urged the BDA to give priority to housing projects for the urban poor. BDA Vice Chairman Chanchal Rana said the authority’s proposed 20-year development plan would emphasise planned urbanisation, improved roads and drainage, affordable housing, parks, playgrounds and social infrastructure.
