LUDHIANA, PUNJAB: Seventeen-year-old Aryan Gupta from Ludhiana has emerged as one of the top performers in the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination, securing All India Rank (AIR) 1 with an outstanding 715 out of 720 marks. The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the re-examination results on July 16, following the nationwide re-test conducted after the cancellation of the original NEET-UG examination due to the paper leak controversy.
Aryan’s achievement is remarkable not only because of his score but also because of the emotional challenges he overcame. The cancellation of the original examination left thousands of aspirants disappointed, and Aryan admitted that he was devastated by the decision. However, instead of losing hope, he resumed his preparation immediately, determined to make the most of the second opportunity. His disciplined approach and unwavering focus eventually led him to the top of the national rankings.
During his preparation for the re-examination, Aryan followed an intensive study schedule, dedicating nearly 16 to 17 hours a day to revision and practice. Coming from a family of doctors, he received constant encouragement from his parents and teachers, who helped him stay motivated throughout the uncertain period. Aryan has also acknowledged that while hard work played the biggest role in his success, he considers family support, guidance from mentors, and an element of luck equally important.
Aryan’s dream of becoming a doctor is deeply personal. He has shared that the loss of his grandmother to cancer during his childhood inspired him to pursue medicine with the goal of becoming an oncologist. He now hopes to join AIIMS New Delhi and dedicate his career to cancer treatment and research, turning a childhood promise into a lifelong mission.
