Baba Balia has dedicated himself to organizing dowry-free marriages, combating child marriage, and promoting widow remarriage—initiatives that challenge the very fabric of age-old societal norms. In rural Odisha, practices like consulting wizards for snakebite treatment or blind faith in horoscopes remain prevalent.
