The state’s largest trade fair has already begun on November 8 at the Bali Yatra Ground on the banks of the Mahanadi River in Cuttack. Thousands of people have flocked to the millennium city to witness the Bali Yatra 2022.The Bali Yatra, which reopened to the public on Wednesday after a two-year hiatus owing to the COVID outbreak, has drawn a large throng. With the increase in visitation, stakeholders have devised a number of new attractions to keep people entertained. Among the new features, water sports on the vast expanse of the river Mahanadi have proven to be extremely popular.
The ‘Thunka Puri,’ which is served with Paneer curry and cauliflower curry, is an essential part of the Bali Yatra. Aside from Thunka Puri, many food carts have sprung up here, serving a variety of popular foods.Smoke biscuits are another popular attraction during the vintage fair. Liquid nitrogen is stored in a canister here, and it is used along with wafers within the paper glass to serve visitors. It is priced at Rs 50.A replica of the puja has been constructed at a stall where special Manda Pithas (Rice Dumplings) are offered to consumers in this fair, as Manabasa Gurubar brings vibrant colours to the landscape of Odisha’s traditional heritage.Chakuli and mutton from Baripada are a fantastic combo to enjoy the fair at Bali Yatra in the wintery evenings along the banks of the Mahanadi River. Mudhi Mansa is another dish that is usually a hit with guests to Bali Yatra.
