The Odisha Government declared to develop Chandrabhaga and Talsari beaches into world-class tourism centers to attract more tourists and visitors to the state from all over the world.
Odisha already has that potential for tourism and now the state government has planned to attract more tourists both from the country and overseas. The government has already started building efforts to develop infrastructure at Chandrabhaga beach on Puri-Konark marine drive and Balasore’s Talasari-Udaypur beach. The government is planning to make these two beaches into international tourism destinations.
In a meeting, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik discussed the details over the implementation of these two highly determined plans to make the international tourism spots.
As per the reports, one kilometer stretch of the Puri-Konark beach Chandrabhaga will be developed. And the stretch will have a separate area for water sports, amusement, a beautiful walking track, a cycle track, wood inlaid walking track along the shores of the sea, an open-air theatre, a playing area for kids, a platform to watch the sunrise, and facilities for adventure sports.

Even facilities like modern waste handling systems, landscaping, a system for sand protection, solar lighting facilities, and participation of locals will be promoted. The re-development of the work is estimated to be completed within a year.
On Balasore’s Talasari beach, a 2.4-kilometer stretch will be developed where the tourists can stay at the accommodation provided. Construction of Star and Budget hotels will be developed along with rain shelters, kiosks, sitting islands, solar photovoltaic panels, amphitheaters, restaurants. Even an art and craft court will also be constructed to introduce tourists to Odisha’s art and culture. This re-development work is estimated to be completed by October 2021.
For both the beaches necessary safety and security arrangements will also be taken care of along with enough lifeguards.
The Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to develop Pir Jahania, Niladri, and River Mouth beaches in Puri district and Haripur and Patisonpur beaches in Ganjam district as Blue Flag beaches in the coming two years.
