‘Swachh Bindusagar’ project is launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik through virtual conferencing with Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi and many prominent personalities have also graced the occasion and inaugurated the project. CM Patnaik thanked the Union Petroleum Ministry during his note address on the occasion and stated that the Bindusagar is a famous pilgrim place in Odisha and also termed as an essence of the national union.
With the joint partnership with the Institute of Chemical Technology) ICT) IOCL and Odisha Bridge Construction Company (OBCC) the project is being executed. The project is estimated with the cost of 70 Lakh under the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL)’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund. The main purpose of the initiative is to clean one of the excellent heritage sites of this historic temple of the Odisha.
The ‘Swachh Bindusagar’ Project concurs with Ekamra Kshetra Heritage Project which is already on progress by the State Government and the announcement has also been made by the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in 2019.
This cleaning initiative at the divine tank has been undertaken through the project launched as it was much polluted and is also replete with weeds and algae.
Last year the State Government inked an agreement with the Indian Chemicals Institute (ICI) and India Oil Corporation (IOC) for this initiative. The initiative has been taken up to clean the scared ponds and tanks by the means of the ICT’s Hydro-Dynamic Cavitation Technology. The State Government in June last year had inked an agreement in this regard with the Indian Chemicals Institute (ICI) and India Oil Corporation (IOC). While an initiative has been taken up to clean the sacred ponds and tanks by which Hydro-Dynamic Pumps which will be pressed into service by the ICT-IOC for the cleansing purpose.
