CM Directs Advance Distribution Of 3-Month Rice Quota To PDS Beneficiaries

In a meeting held at the Lok Seva Bhavan today, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed the state’s public distribution system (PDS) and gave the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department instructions to provide recipients a three-month advance allotment of rice. The Chief Minister mandated that each recipient get 15 kg of rice for October, November, and December ahead of time, according to a press statement. Approximately 40 lakh families have yet to get their rice, despite the fact that the procedure started on October 1. The Chief Minister gave staff instructions to make sure these households received their handout right away.

Plans to integrate all registered e-Shramik employees into the public distribution system were also covered at the conference. Only 1.31 lakh workers remain to be included out of the 1.3 crore registered e-Shramik workers; nearly all have been covered. The Chief Minister gave authorities instructions to add these remaining employees to the State Food Security Scheme as soon as possible. The Chief Minister also brought up the necessity of accelerating the e-KYC procedure for Odia migrants living in other states during the discussion of the One Nation One Ration scheme.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Nikunj Bihari Dhal, Principal Secretary of the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department Vir Vikram Yadav, and Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra attended the meeting.
