At Lok Seva Bhawan today, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi examined a range of Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) operations on Thursday.Chief Minister Majhi stated that OMC is a significant company under the state government at this particular occasion. Because Odisha has an abundance of natural resources, industries that depend on the mining industry stand to gain from more effective management of the sector as well as increased revenue. Majhi placed emphasis on employing contemporary technologies to survey and estimate the mineral riches in various sections of the state. In addition, the Chief Minister called for the development of additional mining-related industries in the region.

He said that the output of resources similar to iron ore will rise as a result of bolstering the state’s mining department’s institutions and investing in highly qualified personnel and state-of-the-art machinery. The Chief Minister simultaneously requested that the health issues of those impacted by mining-related pollution be investigated.

He went on to say that most people who live in mining areas are tribal members. The Chief Minister also instructed the OMC Chairman and Managing Director to concentrate on the advancement of health and education, the provision of clean drinking water, the reduction of poverty, and an efficient transit system in the surrounding areas of the mining industry. The Chief Minister also advised the mining companies to work toward their economic and social development mines.

According to the Chief Minister, the development and enhancement of the living conditions for those who live in mining areas should receive the majority of corporate social responsibility funding. It’s important to note that OMC provides raw materials to a number of Odisha industries that don’t possess their own mines. As a result, increasing its production capacity is always required. In addition to being the biggest producer of chrome, OMC is ranked as the nation’s fourth-largest producer of iron ore.

Minister of Mines and Steel Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Principal Secretary of Finance Department Saswat Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary of Steel & Mines Department D.K. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Nikunja Bihari Dhal, and Chairman and Managing Director of OMC Balwant Singh were present at this review meeting.
